I am a licensed psychologist and co-founder of Midtown Psychotherapy Associates in Atlanta, Georgia. I help people resolve eating disorders, eating problems, anxiety, depression, and trauma. On this site, you will find information about me, my experience, and my therapeutic approach. I welcome any questions as you make decisions about a therapist who is a good fit for you.
I most often work with patients in individual therapy employing Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness theory and techniques. We will work collaboratively to address short term goals as well as more long-term problematic patterns of thinking, behavior, and relating. I’m also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, a groundbreaking treatment for trauma) and I often use this method to resolve trauma or move past a stuck place in therapy.
Recovery from an eating disorder is possible. I have specialized in the treatment of eating disorders for more than 20 years and I have seen so many patients establish a healthy relationship with food and their body. I am honored to partner with my patients to do this work. If you need help or someone you love needs help, I invite you to continue to read about me and my approach.
I live in the Morningside/Virginia-Highland neighborhood of Atlanta. My German Shepherd Dog Axel is my biggest fan and protector. I enjoy reading, music, photography, cooking (sometimes), walking in my neighborhood, and time at the lake or beach.
